Sincere condolences to Sharon and family

Arunas was a dear friend and colleague when we both taught World Religions at St. Thomas More. Staff and students there loved him. It was wonderful to see him at Westdale working in Resource when my son Arthur, who is autistic, was facing challenges making the transition to high school. Arunas was kind and caring and funny and wise every day of Arthur's 4 years there. Arunas made a speech about Arthur when he presented him with the graduation award for "overcoming obstacles" and later said it was one of his proudest moments as a teacher. He deserved an award for being so amazing with students, parents and colleagues. Arunas's light shone into my life again when he was becoming a teacher at U Of T and i was completing my applied meditation certificate. I took his advice and went on a Mindful Self Compassion retreat with Kristen Neff. Every time Arunas was around he brought blessings. The last time I saw Arunas i was having a latte at the Staircase and he was heading off in a camper van. I was so happy to see him and he sat with me and was as friendly and positive as ever and told me about his cancer journey. What a beautiful person. I am so grateful for all the significant times in life our paths crossed and we'd walk along sharing insights and laughter. What a beautiful person. Arunas will always be remembered with love and gratitude. Sending love and sincere condolences to Sharon and Arunas' family.

From the moment I met Arunas, I felt safe. Having had some mindfulness work done with him, I shared things with him that I have never shared with anyone else. He reached out to check on friends who were experiencing some difficult issues even though he was in the fight of his life. Arunas was an incredible man who has gone too soon. I will never forget you, I love you my friend!

It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to dear Arunas. Your spirit will carry on to bless many others in beautiful ways, maybe even us again. Your complete embrace of ways to encourage others through teaching, facilitating, chatting and being your upbeat authentic self always was so enthusiastic. I had the honor of training you in Transformative Mindfulness and 16 Guidelines for Life, which added to your experience of mindfulness meditation along with your teaching and facilitation skills which led you to an invitation. as faculty at University of Toronto School of Continuing Education. As well, you were recognized as a facilitator of 16 Guidelines by the Foundation for Developing Compassion and Wisdom, UK whose patron is the Dalai Lama. Above all else, Arunas, you were a dear friend and I was touched by the beauty that pervaded your passing and the precious days that followed.

To Sharon, Arunas’ equally talented wife and partner in so many facets of his life, you were there steadfast - protecting and encouraging. And in the past years and months, courageous as well.

My love to Arunas on your next journey and for Sharon as your future beckons with promise.

I met Arunas, along with his wife Sharon, at a meditation retreat at the Vajrayogini Institute in Marzens, France in May 2019. Arunas sat next me during the 5 week long retreat (4 sessions/day). I immediately was taken by his optimism, positive energy and his friendly, light-hearted spirit. I remember him well. Arunas touched my heart. And I'm certain that his life was spent sharing his inner joy with everyone he met. Big Love to Sharon and all close family and friends he left behind.

Arunas was a loving and supporting positive person. He was so interesting to talk to and I really enjoyed his meditation classes with Sharon. He was such an inspiration so upbeat and positive. I remember how excited he was after his operation and I was so ĥappy for him his He didn't let this horrible disease get him down. I was devastated to hear that the cancer returned and feared for Sharon and the family knowing how hard and heartbreaking this must be for them.

My heart goes out to Sharon and all who loved Arunas for He will be missed greatly. RIP my friend.

Our deepest condolences to Sharon and Derek, Emily, Andrew. Arunas never wavered from a positive attitude and in fact the last time we recently seen him, he was on a bike ride. Our memory of Arunas will be his famous apple fritters, which we were lucky to be invited to indulge in, and without a doubt they were delicious...

Without a doubt the loss of Arunas is a hard one for us to grasp. He has been a pillar of strength and resiliency throughout so much of this horrific disease which has taken him from us way too soon. I have cherished my friendship with him and have many fond memories of deep and amazing conversations. He was without a champion for so many people! With huge gratitude for his kindness, compassion and brilliance. I send my heartfelt condolences to the family and especially to my bestie Sharon who has been his loving and caring wife. I know this is going to take time to unravel but without a doubt he has left a lifelong imprint on all of us. Much love and we will celebrate him as we continue to study and believe in the life ever after. Om Mane Padme Houm.

My sincere condolences to the family of Mr. Antanaitis. I knew Mr. Antanaitis as a teacher at St. Thomas More CSS when he first started teaching. He was my phys.ed. teacher who introduced us to strength and conditioning training long before it became a 'thing'. I learned how to lift weights through Mr. Antanaitis' instruction and encouragement. And as I taught my athletes how to do the same, I always referenced Ron. He was a most engaging teacher who was an example for making every moment count! Rest in peace, Mr. A.
