Biography
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis James Katchuk on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, peacefully in the Regina General hospital at the age of 75. He is survived by his devoted wife, Bonnie Katchuk, his son’s Cameron and Ryan (Kellie); his grandson Noah, and his sister Darlene (Pat) McKenzie. Also, not to be forgotten, his cherished dog Shadow whom he spent every moment with. Also left to grieve are his wife’s extended family; sister-in-law Brenda Turner, Alana (Kevin) Prince, brother-in-law Lawrence Kitz, and wonderful nieces and nephews and many close friends. Dennis was pre-deceased by his mother and father Gerina and William Katchuk, his two brothers, Donald and David, his uncle Sam Murashka, In law’s Bud and Anita Boreen, sister-in-law Bev Kitz and brother-in-law Pat Turner. He will be fondly remembered for his warmth, sense of humour and his unwavering dedication to his family and friends. He was a plumber, sheet metal worker and gas fitter by trade and a master of being able to fix or build anything. He enjoyed fishing, and everyone loved his smoked meat and cheese. At Dennis’s request, a private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Regina Humane Society in honour of his departed dogs, Cooper and Bear Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day, Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear - Anonymous

Dennis was someone whom I met when I started Track and Field with the Harriers in grade 5 with Cam! Dennis always stayed to watch my races and cheered me on. Dennis or Bonnie were on every track meet along with my parents and we got to know them well over the years. Dennis always cracking a joke or there to say.. “you are going to do great today Aaron”! So sad to hear about his passing. Hugs to the Katchuk family!

Our greatest memory of Dennis is what a dedicated and loving father and husband he was. We also have many memories of laughter with him on the many track trips we chaperoned together. A wonderful, wonderful man to be sure. He will be missed❤️
