These posts are such a tribute to the amazing person Greg was - Heaven no longer is missing this angel. I met him and Mark P in junior high school - they were Caledonia boys and I was an Ellenvale girl. Greg was ALWAYS so happy,

positive spirited and for someone who loved to dance (me), Greg (and Mark) were always there to disco down when the dance music was on or rock out when bands were playing the Stones, Aerosmith and the many rockers of the '70s. He will always be remembered in our hearts and minds. I am pretty sure he already has the heavens laughing with his one liners and contagious smile. My sincere condolences to all of Greg's family and friends. Cathy McHugh (PAHS Grad '79)

I met Greg through a dear friend, Wendy Knowles, when they began dating in Jr. High. Years passing meant nothing to Greg. He would greet you with that smile and bear hug like it was yesterday. I've not met many like him over the last 50 years; he was truly one of a kind. Rest easy Greg. You will be remembered for the generous soul you are.

I grew up on the same Dartmouth street as Greg back in the 70s. Back then Greg was one of those guys you just couldn’t help but like. When he was around, things just seemed better somehow. Maybe it was because he was always cracking wise, but was never mean about it. I doubt Greg had a mean bone in his body. Lots of mischievous ones maybe, but that just increased the fun factor. :)

We reconnected in Fredericton in the mid-90s where we worked together for a few years on a big IT project. He hadn’t changed a bit. He was still the same fun-loving, good guy with that quick wit that I remembered. Well I found out in Fredericton that he was also smart and a hard worker. Greg was a natural in the computer room I learned a lot about technology from him. It was a good project but what was even more memorable were the good times we all had after hours. We became friends during those years and I’m a better man for it. Rest easy Greg, you were of the good ones and you’ll not be forgotten.

I spent most of my time in Elementary and Junior High with Greg as one of my closest friends. We spent many hours, a fair percentage of our free time playing street hockey. Even if it was just the two of us and a net…we would practise making shots and saves. We grew apart after we both moved out of Wallis Heights but he was an integral part of growing up. My sincere condolences to the family.

Greg was my Godfather. My Dad’s best friend for 48 years. The best man at my parents’ wedding. Growing up, I always fondly called him Uncle Greg.

He was one of a kind. He was witty, had excellent one liners and could always put a smile on your face. He was optimistic and could make the best of any situation. He was kind, loyal and was always there for the people he loved. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Rest easy, Uncle G. Love and miss you, always❤️🕊️.

Greg and I met at a softball tournament in Springhill in 1985. He became my boyfriend, then husband, amazing father to our daughter, Andrea, my dear friend, co-parent, father figure and friend to Scott in later years, tour guide, tech support, emotional support, always there and ready with a hug, laugh, coffee, or whatever was needed. Always. We will miss you.

Greg was always a uplifting presence. I met him through my sister Wendy when we lived at Lakecrest apartments. Wendy had a few boyfriends over the years but Greg was the one we loved the most. Always kind, always patient, reliable and generous with his time and spirit. He remained an important and treasured part of our family circle to this day. I can picture him and Wendy at our street at Medway Court in Nantucket playing pitch and catch with Wendy learning to catch hard grounders Greg whipped at her while he cheered her on.

Greg leaves legacy of wonderful relationships and memories for the grateful folk who knew him.

Where do I start? He is my Besties’s (for over 34 years) brother so we have a very special connection. I think two of my biggest memories is one when he moved back to Nova Scotia and I just had a hysterectomy. Kristine calls me and says she is with Greg and why don’t I fly up and drive back to Nova Scotia through the States with them. I don’t have to do anything…. Well I’m not sure if laughing and laughing and laughing was good for the incision, but I’m telling you for my mental state. It was one of my great moments with Greg and Kristine. Another time is when we borrowed his car to drive in the campground, but I will leave it at that , that is between the three of us and I guess a few others lol love you Greg, and will miss you so very much

Although for most of our lives, we were on opposite sides of the country, I always knew he was there for me, and we had a great connection. Such an amazing, joyful, funny and loving person. He was always one of my hubby's closest and dearest friends. So happy I got to see him so recently. He will be so missed by all who knew him. My heart is with all of us who are feeling this big loss <3

My dearest Friend Greg was a true loyal pal from the age of 11. Our house on Helene ave was the walk through for so many ..they always stopped and chatted with my dad. Lots of days i would come home to finding Greg and Mark sitting . A walking buddy who always said " oh we can do another KM" he was there throughout the years as a great friend who always managed to share his bright smile and make the day better. So many memories. I am proud he and Beth named their daughter after me. I will cherish the memories for years to come. Miss you already my friend. Love always .
