Katherine (Kate) Fenwick
May 10th 1984 — Jun 29th 2023 (39 years)
Biography
Katherine (Kate) Fenwick, age 39, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29, 2023, in Mississauga. She was born May 10, 1984, to Carl and the late Sandra Fenwick. Cherished oldest sister to Sarah (Nicholas) and Taylor. Beloved Auntie to James and Grace. Kate graduated with honours from Trent University in 2010 where she established lasting friendships. She loved snowboarding and while on a trip to British Columbia she fell in love with the mountains, the nature, and the way of life. Shortly after this trip, she moved to Nelson, BC and embraced the community, the culture and was proud to call Nelson home for 7 years. In 2019 Kate returned to Mississauga where she cherished her role as Auntie Kate. Always eager to spend time with James and Grace, she will be missed while building forts, dance parties in the living room and trips to the beach. Kate was creative and talented, her hobbies included writing, drawing, painting and most recently beading and jewelry making. Kate loved all people. Free spirited, generous, and always kind, she developed countless relationships in the most unexpected places including parks, coffee shops and on at least one occasion, even roadside. Always compassionate, Kate was a lover and advocate of animals, too, including her dog, Kodiak, and the dozens of cats she had as a girl. Although shortened, Kate’s time here was meaningful, and she’ll be remembered fondly by the countless number of people she genuinely connected with along the way. Kate wished not to have a traditional funeral. A celebration will be planned and shared in the future. For those interested, Donations can be made in Kate’s name to the Heart House Hospice. https://hearthousehospice.com/support-us/donate-now/

I've over thought everything I want to say.
(you would have a novel if I shared everything)
I've never known a better friend...
Kate's kindness and love will stay with me until I see her again 🥰
Words can't express the deep love and beauty that she brought to everyone's lives.
I'll cherish every moment that I spent with my "little moth"

I first met k8 shortly after she moved out west. She moved in to the li'l cottage next door to Trista and myself, where I would initially see her walking past our house with her beloved dog, Kodi. Shortly thereafter we would find ourselves hanging out on many occasions. Regardless of whether it was having some drinks on our patio, chilling and listening to music at her place, going fishing to one of our nearby holes, swimming and sunning at one of our local beaches, or going for uncharted off road drives, there was always one common denominator.......... a whole lotta laughter! I consider myself blessed for our paths having crossed and for developing the friendship we had. Her beautiful smile, calm demeanor, and infectious laugh will be greatly missed but never forgotten! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Kate was a beautiful person - one I’ve known, and have considered family, since I was a very little girl having spent countless hours and sleepovers at the Fenwick household. Her warm smile and kind eyes were always so welcoming and she gave the BEST hugs! We spent many years southside shufflin’ together, and no matter how much time passed between our visits, the genuine interest, excitement and love rushed back each time we were together again. I’ll miss her very much.

To this day we still see little Kate running around playing and laughing with her siblings and besties across the street while the moms and dads smiled from ear to ear. She was always loving! She along with her sister and brother are part of our family. She most definitely will forever be missed and never ever forgotten!

Kate was practically famiky. So many memories that I will forever cherish that cannot be put into words. She was a happy, kind soul who cared about everyone’s happiness before her own. I will remember and cherish all of our years of memories forever.

We really got to know Kate during her years in our home town of Peterborough. She was a kind, energetic and fun young lady. Kate acquired the nickname "Crash" when she worked at our local, private golf course. From day one, she seemed to break a glass or, sometimes many during each shift. When you heard the "crash" you knew Kate was in the building. However, Kate was an excellent employee and all the members loved her bubbly personality and attention to detail. She knew everyone's name and their drink of choice. Kate will be truly missed but never forgotten. We cherish our memories of Kate.
