Rita MacIsaac

Jul 12th 1946 — Feb 28th 2023 (76 years)

Biography

With profound sadness we share the passing of Rita MacIsaac at the age of 76 years. Rita was the most amazing Mom and Nana and spent her final months with her daughters Darlene and Tracy (Roy) and grandchildren Jake and Ella. She loved her home in the beautiful Codroy Valley, Newfoundland. She will be greatly missed by her brother Jerome (Petrina), sisters Jean (Eddie), Bridget and Tilly. She was predeceased by her parents Annie and Benedict as well as brothers Ed, Allan, Vince, Gerard and Joseph and sisters Marie, Margaret and Geraldine. She was loved by her large extended family and many wonderful friends. She was extremely kind and never hesitated to help others. She had a heart of gold and a wonderful sense of humor. She loved playing darts and nothing made her happier than a good game of cards. She enjoyed the outdoors, taking her grandchildren to the beach and camping where wonderful memories were made over the years. Rita showed true determination and courage as she went through chemotherapy, surgery and a recurrence of cancer. Many thanks to the care teams in Port-Aux-Basques and St. John's NL and Oakville ON as well as the Halton Community Palliative Care Team. As per her wishes, Rita will be cremated and a service will be held at a later date when she is brought home to her final resting place in Newfoundland.

Our condolences to the family on the passing of Aunt Rita. I'm forever grateful for the trip I made in January with my mother (Bridget) and my aunt (Tilly) to spend a little time with her when she was hospitalized. When I moved to Ontario, Rita was living there, and going to visit her was like going to a second home.
