Our hearts are broken; we had so many happy times, and it ended too soon. We will hold her in our hearts for always.

My dear friend, I am going to miss you more than you could ever have imagined. Never did I think that when I last saw you in May, that was going to be the very last time...........or I would have stayed to visit that much longer, and hugged you that much closer when we said our goodbyes. A friend like you only comes around once in a lifetime. We had some great times together Shirl, and I will cherish each and every one of them forever.

Shirley was my Dear Neighbour in Ottawa for years. We would go for breakfast a couple of times a week..then I would take her on a mystery ride in the country. What fun we had. Shirley came often to visit me in Florida during the Winter and I would go to Halifax to be with her and her family. She will be missed but is in my heart and fondest memories.

My most treasured memories are the four years my daughter Allison attended Carleton University. Jessie and I would take Allison up to school and stay for a few days with Aunt Shirley. There was always a cake or her famous apple pie on the counter and something delicious in her basement freezer. She tell us about growing up with my mother and stories about her that helped me learn more about Mom growing up. But most of all she took care of Allison and Allison always knew there was a place she could go with someone who cared about her.

My main memory is how when you were with you she made you happy. She had that ability! You were always the most important person to her! We will miss her!
