Timothy James Keane

Mar 14th 1961 — Feb 15th 2023 (61 years)

Biography

With great sadness, we announce the loss of our beloved, Tim. Tim leaves behind his spouse, Sandy Keane. Children, Robert Keane and Steven Keane. Siblings, Bob Keane, Paul Keane, Patrick Keane, Sheila Craig, Richard Keane. He was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Greta and his nephew, Daniel. The loss of Tim is mourned by his large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws and a host of long-time friends. Tim lived to be the center of attention, especially at gatherings to share his jokes (funny or inappropriate) or both. For those who knew Tim, knew that there was no one quite like him! His mischievous sense of humor along with his imagination enabled him to carry out some epic pranks on friends and co workers. Not so good for his intended victim but would provide future hilarious conversations and stories for all to enjoy. Many were aware of his passion of photography with either a landscape or wildlife moment. His ability and patience to capture and see the beauty surrounding us, along with his observations and facts were then gifted to us on social media. In every walk with nature, we receive far more than we seek- John Muir Tim was incredibly articulate, intelligent, witty and confident which contributed to his successes in sales which started at his fathers store, Keane's Appliance in London, On. This lead to future successful careers with London Life and Phoenix Innovations. During Tim's semi- retirement he worked on occasion for U- Haul and part time for Toyota Cambridge as a tour host .This was a perfect role for him as it allowed him to engage in conversations, which we all know he was very skilled at. He also had a deep emotional connectedness to nature and people he met. His positive impact on others resulted in Tim developing some amazing friendships over the years. I believe his happiest times would have been his mindful walks with his friends and his talks with Apollo and their countless adventures together. His greatest joys were his sons, Rob and Steve and his dog Apollo. In 2016, Tim hiked the Bruce Trail end to end. His epic trek along the iconic trail provided clarity and many opportunities to meet others in search of peace. In memory of Tim and his journey on the Bruce Trail, donations are accepted through the Bruce Trail Conservancy. https://support.brucetrail.org/site/Donation2?1400.donation=form1&df_id=1400&mfc_pref=T Tim's Facebook page will remain open and all are welcome to post memories and final words. May you be at peace in Apollo's Meadow to wander together. Cremation only. No service or Visitation at Tim's request.

Tim and I met while looking all over for geocaches. We had lots of wonderful rambles with Tim and Apollo, his amazing geo-dog. We got him out a few times paddling rivers and lakes to find caches, and even got him out one spring to Massassauga Provincial Park for some amazing wilderness camping. Fantastic trip! When we weren't caching together we enjoyed finding the many caches he placed. He was amazing at finding all these hidden trail gems! Bye Tim, I know you and Apollo will now be able to ramble together again!

It was around 40 years ago when I went to Nanaimo to visit with my sister Elaine and Tim's brother Bob. Tim and Sandy were also living out there at this time and Tim was raving about this "football bread" at the bakery. After picking up this big loaf of bread, Tim looked at me and said, "John, go 10 and out." Tim launched the loaf of football bread and left a lasting memory.

After having to put aside my Bruce Trail dreams during Covid to care for a family member, Tim’s re-posts of his end to end kept me connected to what I deeply missed. We became Facebook friends after I shared what his posts meant to me during this time. His wonderful wildlife shots were inspirational and it was obvious how much he loved nature. I am so saddened to hear this news and share my heartfelt condolences to his entire family. I hope you find comfort in the many wonderful memories you have.
