Biography
Paul, Vera Ellen (Smith) of Williamswood It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Vera, aged 68, on Friday January 27, 2023, at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax. Born on July 14, 1954, in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Olga and Aubrey Smith. Vera was devoted to her family and pets. She was survived by her daughters: Tanya Paul (Roger Currie) and Natasha (Brian) Paul-Eisener and granddaughters: Paityn Turner and Hannah Currie. She was also survived by sisters: Doreen, Marion and Marlene; brothers: Kenny, Gregory, Dougie and Ronnie and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Olga and Aubrey Smith and her loving husband Greg Paul. A family graveside service will be held in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery at a later date. I remember Vera from when the guys played Baseball, she was one of the nicest people you could meet, she was so sweet. We would always sit on the bench chatting with her two girls. We still talked once in a while on the phone, or texted. Vera was a big help to me when my my kids father passed away. We were supposed to meet for lunch but then Covid put a hold on that. I really wished we had gotten to to meet for lunch. R.I.P. Vera, your such a beautiful Angel.

Greg and Vera moved next door to us and we became instant friends. We shared many cups of tea and chats and so many laughs. They used to lay on their beds some evenings and listen to Mel play the guitar and sing through open windows. We loved them both very much. I know she is happy to be reunited with him. Rest in eternal peace dear friends. Condolences to the families. 🙏💔🙏💔🌹🌹

She was very happy and she loved to cook and she loved spending time with her family and friends and went above and beyond for her family

I only met Vera once when i went to visit Greg when his family lived in Harrietsfield. The girls were only litlle ones then. The one thing that stands out was Vera's friendly hospitality and kindness. She surely will be missed by her family. Together again with her loving husband!
